Our Scoring Methodology

At National Coatings Calculator, we believe every homeowner deserves to work with a trusted, vetted floor coating professional. That's why we developed a rigorous scoring system that evaluates contractors across multiple dimensions of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

The Scoring Categories

Our AI-powered vetting system evaluates each contractor across seven key criteria:

1. Years in Business (0-10) Longevity matters. Contractors who have been in business longer have demonstrated the ability to maintain quality and customer relationships over time.

2. Verified Reviews (0-10) We analyze Google reviews, BBB complaints, and other verified review platforms to assess the volume and quality of customer feedback.

3. Product Quality (0-10) We evaluate the coating products and materials each contractor uses, including whether they use manufacturer-direct products, lab-tested formulations, and high-solids polyaspartics.

4. Warranty Coverage (0-10) A strong warranty demonstrates confidence in workmanship. We assess the length, coverage, and terms of each contractor's warranty program.

5. Customer Satisfaction (0-10) Beyond star ratings, we analyze the sentiment and themes in customer reviews to understand the overall satisfaction level.

6. Conflict Resolution (0-10) How a contractor handles complaints and issues is just as important as their initial work quality. We evaluate response patterns to negative feedback.

7. BBB Rating (0-10) Better Business Bureau ratings and accreditation status provide an independent assessment of business practices and complaint resolution.

Composite Score

Each contractor receives a composite score that weighs all seven categories. This score, combined with trust badges, gives you a comprehensive picture of each contractor's quality and reliability.

Continuous Monitoring

Our scoring is not a one-time assessment. We continuously monitor and update contractor scores as new reviews, complaints, and business information becomes available.
